The Mission:
The Mission of the Skin Cancer Awareness Ranch is to enrich the lives of the children with serious skin diseases by creating a camping experience that is memorable, exciting, fun, empowering, physically safe and medically sound. The Skin Cancer Awareness Ranch is solely supported by generous contributions, donations, fund-raising events, individuals, corporations and foundations. No child or family will have to pay to attend the camp. This will be a special place for children and their families, who would not otherwise be able to attend camp due to their special needs.
What Camp Means:
The camp is in the business of creating happy memories and smiling faces. But sadly, a child suffering from these serious skin conditions typically has fewer chances to experience the wonders of everyday life, let alone go to a summer camp. The Skin Cancer Awareness Ranch is all about providing that experience, fueling these children with memories that can sustain and inspire. It is not a place for pity; it's a place where being "different" is the norm. It's a place where kids connect with other kids who have the same serious skin conditions. It gives them a place to experience the full range of fun and pleasure that "healthy" kids might experience at summer camp. The camp will offer incredible programs, spirited counselors, and a magical facility that creates experiences of a life time.
